Commercial Cattle

Our main herd is comprised of a three-way cross. We utilize Angus, Simmental and Hereford genetics. This cross produces great calves that are primarily black with white faces. We admire how good-looking these babies are. This cross also makes very hardy cattle that thrive in our Montana climate, with great carcass quality. With Artificial Insemination we can pick and choose which animals to breed with certain semen that compliments them. We save back our own bulls from these crosses to use on our cattle. We use a mix of pure bred, and cross bred lines to keep our mix in a nice balance.

Mom is the mastermind behind choosing the right semen and keeping the right cows. With her behind the wheel we have a herd made up of the best genetics and the most efficient mothers. We also have what I would consider an easy to work herd with docile temperaments and good-hearted cows. These are the cows that produce the beef that I sell direct to consumers and have had nothing but happy customers.
